Being a creative entrepreneur is all about adapting and changing

Updated: May 8, 2023

Are you like me and feeling a bit apprehensive about the year to come? Who could blame us for feeling that way? Goodness knows the past few years haven't been easy.

Instead of assuming everything is out of my control, I am going to work on getting some of that control back this year.

I will start by making some distinctions between my personal space and my small business. I will continue to work hard to make this big dream of mine of beng a creative entrepreneur a reality but I don't want to work to the point that I am forgetting what day it is. I am embarrassed to say that this has happened more than I care to admit.

Second, I am going to be taking a break from any online training for a while out of financial necessity. I jokingly tell people that I feel I did my part in 2022 to help a lot of other entrepreneurs in the digital course creation space. This year it is all about going on a bit of a digital course diet. If anything I will be consuming content on podcasts, YouTube, social media or attending free webinars. There comes a time when you realize this isn't productive and it is only busy work. A person can only consume so much.

This digital detox also goes for memberships. I still have a few and when they lapse that will be it. I look at them the same way I look at my wardrobe. Sometimes you just outgrow them or in the case of my work clothes that haven't been worn since the start of the pandemic, it is time for a refresh.

If you are a creative entrepreneur, what are some changes you intend to do in the coming year? If you want to read more subscribe to my newsletter.
